Q1_2020 Introduction
Dear Readers
In Q1 2020 PMI Denmark had its General Assembly in Kulturhuset on Islands Brygge, including both a great public speaker, Asbjørn Jensen, and a nice dinner afterwards at a local restaurant. This time the General Assembly elected a new president, Peter Helmer Sorensen, you can read his introduction to the members in an article below. The event went very well, and in this newsletter you can both see pictures and read more about the General Assembly.
Looking forward to the coming Quarter (Q2), all our activities will be impacted by and be executed with respect to the development of the Corona pandemic. We will focus on our developing the annual PM Conference on September 8th with theme: Future of Project Management. We will further revise our planned Q2 events in the light of the pandemic and consider other means of delivering events and networking opportunities to our members, we will continue our focus on expanding our membership base and events in Jutland and increase our already close collaboration with the Young Professionals. And we offer for the third time CAPM training for a group of 25 young professionals and students.
Remember, there is always the need for fellow PM's who want to help with writing newsletter articles, plan and manage events, find speakers for conferences, etc. Should you, or anyone in your network, be interested in any of these opportunities then reach out to PMI Denmark on info@pmi-dk.org and remember that good things happen when you get involved with PMI 😊.
Enjoy the reading! Best regards, The PMI Denmark Board
Q1_2020 Sponsor´s Article: Emotional Intelligence in Project Management
Emotional Intelligence in Project Management
Written by Henrik Bjerregaard Nielsen, Mannaz
Is project management only about drawing up Gantt charts and rushing people along to get things done on time? Well sometimes it is – but most of the time we must manage people, motivate people and communicate with people. Doing these kinds of ‘people’ activities - and doing them well – calls upon other skills and other insights than drawing up charts or perhaps operating IT applications.

Q1_2020 Sponsor´s Article: Everyone is a Leader: Four ways to ground yourself in times of uncertainty
Emotional Intelligence in Project Management
Written by Katrina Marshall Dyrting and Susan Salzbrenner, Implement Consulting
We always talk about the VUCA (Volatile, Uncertain, Complex, Ambiguous) world and now it’s really here. The tension is palpable: Being concerned about our health, working virtually from home, juggling multiple roles at once (being a full-time parent, teacher and employee) and dealing with feelings of social isolation. All the while grappling with the question: When will life go back to “normal”? Will it ever go back to “normal”?
While our survival instincts are being triggered on a daily basis, it is important to ground yourself – both for your own well-being and to be able to zoom out to see opportunities that could emerge through the disruption… Check out this article for four ways to ground yourself in uncertainty.

Q1_2020 General Assembly
General Assembly 2020 – A look back to 2019 and exciting plans ahead
On March 10th 2020, around 30 Chapter Members gathered at Kulturhuset Islands Brygge in Copenhagen for the yearly General Assembly. It is always an event most of us look forward to, reviewing the achievements over the past 12 months and setting the targets for the current year. Unfortunately this year the shadow of the Corona virus was over the assembly but did not affect the good atmosphere.
The GA was kicked off by great guest speaker, Asbjørn Jensem, who with a high level of energy presented tools to improve public speaking. The GA continued with presentation of key activities and 2020 plans from each department and concluded with the election of open positions where it is important to highlight that a new president, Peter Helmer Sørensen, was elected.
